The Arts & Justice Collective brings together four mission-driven organizations that focus on art, culture, equity and community on Cape Cod.

Pulling from each organizations’ own strengths and missions, The Cordial Eye, Amplify POC Cape Cod, Cape Cod Voices and Belonging Books will establish an art, culture and social justice hub in downtown Hyannis that centers our historically excluded communities. Largely funded by MassDevelopment, The Arts & Justice Collective will focus on three projects that are vital to creating this hub.

Our Three projects

  • Monthly (ish) Events

A series of art and justice events, or “House Parties,” feature local musicians, visual artists, dancers, writers and speakers. These House Parties are intended to empower community members to celebrate their cultural heritage in their full vibrancy.

  • The Arts & Justice Festival

This festival is planned for July 7-9th and will be a multiday celebration of the different ways our community is working towards justice, joy, and liberation.

  • A Future Physical Location

We’ve begun the planning process to establish physical, year-round collaborative community space. We are asking ourselves from a philosophical, legal, and logistical standpoint, “What does it mean, and what would it take for us to co-exist to build a healthy community?”

Together these projects will foster community, increase access and visibility for local artists, and aid in economic development for downtown Hyannis.

Additionally, this initiative creates a natural environment for the organizations to collaborate, support one another, and share resources to help meaningfully advance their missions while providing a more holistic and intersectional experience for community members.
